This is a non-profit making organization registered in Kenya and advocates the benefit of early cancer screening to increase chances of early detection and an opportunity for early medical intervention

Location: Nairobi, Kasarani Behind Equity Bank , Kenya
Year founded: 2011

Cancer is one of the major non-communicable diseases, responsible for an estimated 8.2 million deaths globally. The number of new cancer cases is on the increase and is expected to rise by over 70% in the next two decades if no deliberate prevention and control efforts are put in place.

The rising burden of cancer is attributable to a major extent to four shared behavioral risk factors that are influenced by economic transition, rapid urbanization and adoption of unhealthy lifestyles such as tobacco use, consumption of unhealthy diets, insufficient physical activity and the harmful use of alcohol.

Majority of cancer patients present advanced disease stage due to lack awareness, lack of access to treatment, lack for financial access to care due to poverty and long distances to health facilities thus making it difficult to treat and expensive. It is reported that a huge number of those who die are in their most reproductive years of their lives

Consequently, cancer is a long-term disease that requires long term treatment and is usually very expensive. People must be sensitized more than ever before about cancer in order to save lives.  For this reason, we advocate the benefit of early detection to reduce risk factors associated with cancer and focus on the importance of frequent screening and an opportunity for early medical intervention and more so on lifestyle, diet, physical body exercise and among other healthy lifestyles. We believe that if awareness is emphasized, cancer can be eradicated to the minimal.

The ultimate goal of this project is to reduce morbidity and mortality due to cancer and other related non-communicable diseases through stakeholders education and sensitization to enhance prevention and screening for cancer as a means for ensuring early detection and save lives. We hope to promote prevention and early detection and thereby facilitate diagnosis and treatment of cancer cases before becoming so advanced and untreatable.
